HOW TO GET INVOLVED

The opponents of this campaign include: JP Morgan Chase, Marathon Oil, El Paso Electric, and other billion-dollar fossil fuel corporations. We will won't be able to "outspend" these oil giants, but we can "out-organize" them!

Your donation can help us get there. Contributions would fund pamphlets, direct mail, merchandise, yard signs, and stipends for El Paso organizers working hard on-the-ground talking to voters directly.

Click here to donate now or reach out to us at sunriseelpasotexas@gmail.com or (915) 500-9751 for larger contributions.

What is a ‘Voter Pledge’?

A voter pledge is a wholehearted commitment to vote for the El Paso Climate Charter initiative.

On May 6th, Prop K will be on the ballot for election in the City of El Paso.

Early Voting begins Monday April 24 through Tuesday May 2. Election Day is Saturday May 6.

We can out-organize our opponents by talking directly to El Paso voters. You are invited to join us every Wednesday evening from now to election week to speak to El Pasoans about voting for the Climate Charter this May 6th.

If you are not currently on the ground in El Paso but would still like to support the organizing efforts of this nationwide important climate campaign, phonebanking wednesdays with us is an incredible way to support remotely.

Mobilizing our community to vote in a special May election will be challenging--but certainly possible. One of the best ways to increase voter turnout is to directly speak with voters on the ground and engage in meaningful conversations with community members.

Every weekend between now and May 6, we will be going door-to-door to talk mobilize El Pasoans to support the Climate Charter. We have shifts Friday afternoons, Saturday mornings, Saturday afternoons, Sunday mornings and Sunday afternoons.

New to door-knocking? No problem! A campaign team-member can provide personalized trainings and support.

Besides going to voters' doors, we are also canvassing El Pasoans directly at public spaces (markets, parks, community events, etc.).

We call this "wild canvassing"-- you can choose your own time and place for collecting voter pledges for the Climate Charter.

Every Thursday from 6-7pm, we will hold Canvassing Trainings. You are invited to join us to learn about getting voter pledges for the Climate Charter and sharing our canvassing experiences!
